The Michener Institute

The Michener Institute provides current and innovative health care education, addressing unmet educational requirements outside of programming offered by other post-secondary institutions in and outside of Ontario. The 1972 building underwent a major renovation to include the latest in health care education technology.

Novita designed AV Systems for 24 Objective Structured Clinical Examination evaluation rooms, 6 simulation studios, 2 lecture rooms, 6 meeting rooms and 12 support rooms. Systems include medical mannequins, multi-room assigning through touch screen interactive displays, and centralized digital AV archival recording of OSCE sessions. Students’ sessions with actors simulating patients can be viewed in another room, and recorded for later review. Meeting rooms are divisible for maximum flexibility of use.

This project is certified LEED Gold.
